Terms for a shared record.

These Terms form an agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS], when you create an account, upload content, or otherwise use Fireflies. “Fireflies,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to that entity. The controller and governing entity details are placeholders and must be completed before these Terms can take effect.

The Privacy Notice, Community Guidelines, Content & AI Policy, Cookie Policy, illegal-content reporting procedure, moderation appeals process, and any feature-specific terms presented to you form part of the service rules. If feature-specific terms directly conflict with these Terms, the more specific terms control for that feature.

• You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement.
• You must provide accurate private account information and keep it current, even though the service does not require a public legal name.
• You may sign in with email and password, Google, or Apple through Clerk. Your use of a sign-in provider is also subject to that provider’s terms.
• You must keep credentials and recovery methods secure, promptly report suspected compromise, and not lend, sell, transfer, or automate access to your account.
• Unless Fireflies approves a documented need, you may not operate multiple accounts to evade restrictions, simulate independent witnesses, or manipulate corroboration.
• A person or organization using Fireflies on behalf of another entity confirms they have authority to bind that entity.

Contact [SUPPORT EMAIL] if you believe an account is compromised or was created without authority. Fireflies may require proportionate verification before changing control of an account.

Fireflies assigns a public Firefly ID and procedural glow signature. They are intended to let the public understand a contributor’s correction and corroboration history without displaying the contributor’s legal name. They do not guarantee anonymity from Fireflies, service providers, people who recognize an upload, or lawful authorities.

• Do not state or imply that your Firefly ID belongs to another person, publisher, official, emergency service, or organization.
• Do not buy, sell, transfer, share, or coordinate identities to make reports appear independently corroborated.
• A glow pattern is a visual identifier, not an endorsement, rank, currency, ownership token, or verification badge.
• Account standing may reflect accepted corrections, useful evidence, misuse, and moderation outcomes, but cannot establish the truth of a future submission by itself.

Fireflies organizes user evidence, publisher links, official updates, locations, timelines, corrections, and status labels around events. It may visually group map points for readability. A visual cluster does not prove that reports describe the same real-world event.

The service may show unconfirmed, developing, corroborated, verified, disputed, corrected, or resolved states. A state is a current editorial and moderation assessment of available evidence—not a warranty, legal finding, instruction, emergency alert, professional opinion, or substitute for primary authorities.

“Your Content” includes media, audio, descriptions, locations, source information, notices, corrections, and other material you submit. You retain any ownership rights you have. You are responsible for deciding whether a submission is lawful, safe, relevant, and supported by an honest basis.

By submitting Your Content, you represent and warrant, to the extent permitted by applicable law, that:

• you created it or have the rights, licences, permissions, and consents needed for Fireflies to use it as described;
• your source, ownership, capture-time, event-time, location, and editing disclosures are accurate to the best of your knowledge;
• you have not fabricated a witness, event, document, scene, or chain of custody, and have not presented synthetic media as real evidence;
• the submission does not unlawfully invade privacy, reveal protected or confidential information, infringe intellectual-property rights, defame, threaten, harass, or break applicable law;
• you have taken reasonable steps not to expose children, victims, private homes, shelters, medical sites, witnesses, responders, or vulnerable people to avoidable harm;
• you will promptly provide a correction or alert Fireflies if material information changes or you discover an error;
• you are not submitting the content to manipulate event status, manufacture corroboration, evade moderation, or profit from deception.

These promises do not require a witness to be certain about everything. Clearly distinguish what you directly observed from what you inferred or heard from someone else. Good-faith uncertainty is acceptable; deliberate or reckless misrepresentation is not.

You grant Fireflies a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, copy, store, reproduce, encode, transcode, adapt for formatting or accessibility, translate, analyze, authenticate, compare, moderate, create display derivatives from, publish, communicate, distribute, and display Your Content solely to operate, secure, improve, explain, and promote the Fireflies service and its event records.

This licence lets Fireflies make practical changes such as thumbnails, compression, captions, translations, redaction, blurring, cropping, file conversion, metadata removal, accessibility descriptions, event clustering, and excerpts. Fireflies will not use this licence to fabricate what your content depicts or sell your evidence as a stock-media library.

The licence begins when you submit the content. It ends within a reasonable period after the content and account are deleted, except to the extent copies remain in rotating backups, another user has lawfully shared the content through the service, or continued restricted use is reasonably necessary for a correction record, source and event integrity, safety, legal compliance, rights of others, dispute, or legal claim. Where possible, Fireflies will de-identify retained public-interest records.

Fireflies may ingest headlines, dates, publisher metadata, short attributed excerpts, and canonical links from allowlisted publishers, RSS feeds, public agencies, or data providers. The linked publisher—not Fireflies—controls the full article and may correct, remove, meter, or restrict access to it.

A link, embed, source label, event association, or inclusion in a source panel is not an endorsement. Third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices. Fireflies is not responsible for their availability, content, or transactions, subject to rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

• Break the Community Guidelines or Content & AI Policy, or facilitate another person doing so.
• Submit illegal content, child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, trafficking content, credible threats, or material that unlawfully promotes terrorism or violent extremism.
• Create fake evidence, fake witnesses, deepfakes, cloned voices, synthetic event footage, misleading edits, or false source and location claims.
• Dox, stalk, harass, intimidate, identify protected people, or expose sensitive real-time locations.
• Scrape, harvest, reverse engineer, probe, overload, interfere with, bypass, or access the service or accounts without authorization, except where law expressly protects security research.
• Use bots, coordinated accounts, purchased accounts, or deceptive behavior to manipulate visibility, corroboration, reporting, appeals, or account standing.
• Upload malware, surveillance payloads, destructive code, or content designed to evade scanning.
• Use Fireflies to train facial-recognition, biometric-identification, weapons, surveillance, or generative-media systems without Fireflies’ written authorization and a lawful basis.
• Remove source, status, correction, safety, or AI-disclosure labels when redistributing content in a way that misleads others.

Fireflies may review content before or after publication and may refuse, delay, label, contextualize, blur, crop, de-index, geographically restrict, reduce visibility, detach from an event, correct, preserve, or remove content. It may warn, limit features, suspend, or terminate accounts. Measures should consider severity, context, reach, intent, harm, correction history, repeated misuse, and legal obligations.

Where required, Fireflies will give the affected person a statement of reasons identifying the decision, core facts, territorial scope and duration, whether automated tools contributed, the legal or policy basis, and available redress. Certain details may be withheld where disclosure would violate law, expose a reporter, enable abuse, or create a serious safety risk.

Fireflies may act immediately in urgent cases. Except where law or safety prevents it, eligible decisions can be challenged through the Moderation Appeals process. Account deletion does not cancel a pending legal hold or require deletion of every event record.

The service software, visual system, map presentation, glow-generation system, branding, original editorial material, and non-user datasets are owned by Fireflies or its licensors and protected by applicable law. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service as intended; they do not transfer Fireflies intellectual property.

If you believe content infringes copyright, trademark, or another right, send a sufficiently detailed notice to [LEGAL / DSA EMAIL]. Include the protected work, exact Fireflies URL, basis of your claim, your contact details, a good-faith statement, and any signature or declaration required by applicable law. Misrepresentations may have legal consequences.

Fireflies may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features; impose proportionate limits; correct technical errors; or run clearly indicated tests. The service may be unavailable because of maintenance, incident response, provider failure, internet conditions, legal requirements, or events outside reasonable control.

Fireflies will provide reasonable notice of a material reduction or discontinuation where practicable and required. Consumer rights, portability duties, paid-service commitments if later introduced, and legally required continuity measures remain unaffected.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fireflies is provided on an “as available” basis. Fireflies does not promise uninterrupted availability, that every report will be reviewed, that a label will never change, that all content is accurate or lawful, or that the service will meet every purpose. You remain responsible for independently evaluating information and following official safety instructions.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable, deliberate wrongdoing, or mandatory consumer rights. Any final limitation of liability, exclusion of damages, cap, or indemnity must be drafted for the controller’s jurisdiction and consumer markets before launch.

You may stop using Fireflies and request account deletion. Fireflies may suspend or end access for a material or repeated breach, serious safety or legal risk, non-payment if paid features exist, prolonged inactivity under a disclosed policy, or discontinuation of the service. Where appropriate, Fireflies will warn you and provide reasons and redress.

Provisions that by their nature should continue—such as ownership, licences needed for retained records, correction history, legal holds, disclaimers, dispute terms, and accrued rights—survive termination. The Privacy Notice and Your Data Rights page explain what deletion does and does not erase.

These Terms are intended to be governed by [GOVERNING LAW], with disputes heard by [COMPETENT COURTS], unless mandatory law gives you the right to use another law, court, consumer body, regulatory process, or out-of-court dispute mechanism. Nothing here removes protections you cannot waive as a consumer or EU service recipient.

Before filing a claim, you and Fireflies are encouraged—but not required where law says otherwise—to send a concise description and requested resolution to [LEGAL / DSA EMAIL]. This does not suspend a limitation period unless applicable law provides that it does.

Fireflies may revise these Terms to reflect product, safety, legal, or operational changes. Material changes will be dated and notified in a proportionate way before they take effect. If a change requires fresh agreement, Fireflies will ask for it. Continued use will not be treated as consent where law requires an affirmative choice.
